Besides Russia, these are 38 destinations in Europe, 10 in Asia, 5 in the Middle East, 5 in America, and 2 in Africa. Inside Russia, Aeroflot has four regional branches - in St. Petersburg, Sochi, Magadan and Krasnoyarsk. The airline pays a special attention to its presence in the Russian market, especially Siberia and the Far East.
Aeroflot is Russia’s largest air carrier; it accounts for approximately 45 per cent of international scheduled and 12.5 per cent of domestic traffic in Russia (with its subsidiaries, 17 per cent). By 2015, Aeroflot expects to serve 35 per cent of Russia’s overall scheduled air transportation market.
According to preliminary estimates, Aeroflot flew around 10 million passengers in 2008, and with its subsidiaries, as the Aeroflot Group, approximately 12 million passengers. The Aeroflot Group has a strategic goal to increase the annual number of passengers carried to 26 million by 2015.
To meet the needs of its passengers, Aeroflot is increasing its fleet and building its own hub in Moscow. Terminal 3 at Sheremetyevo is scheduled to open in 2009. With annual capacity of 12 million passengers, it will serve Aeroflot’s flights as well as those of its SkyTeam partners.
Aeroflot is committed to deploying the most effective information technologies, including e-ticketing since 2006, to increase service quality and economic efficiency and relies on the Sabre booking system to power its Internet bookings
